This is not my first time trying to lose weight. My freshman year of high school, I decided to make a change in how I ate and in my activity level: I wanted to "get skinny." Unfortunately, my diet and exercise became obsessions and I developed an eating disorder. So obviously Take One was NOT successful! After years of doctors and therapists visits-- and actually developing a binging problem resulting in a 50 pound weight gain-- I am more than ready to try to lose weight HEALTHILY.
I'm calling my current endeavor Take Two. I want to lose weight, maintain the weight loss, and hopefully gain some confidence. This time, there will be no starving, treadmill torture sessions, or self-hate.
Looking at my family tree and body type, I know that I will not be skinny. Probably ever. However, I can be healthy. That's why I think Take Two will work: last time, I tried to reach an impossible goal. Now, I am working toward better health and moderate weight loss (20 pounds by the end of the summer??) EVERYONE can be healthy.
And so begins my journey on Take Two. WISH ME LUCK!!!!!
